Erie, Lawrence Park, & Corry Invisalign Teen Providers

While many teens would love to have a perfect smile, most don’t love the idea of having metal brackets and wires all over their teeth. Even though braces are very effective in creating straight smiles, they can often have a negative effect on teens’ self-esteem, whether they’re worried about how they look or feeling anxious about how their friends might react at school. That’s where Invisalign Teen comes in, offering an orthodontic solution that creates the perfect smile with no metal needed, straightening their teeth without anyone knowing.

For patients looking to get their ideal smile with Invisalign or Invisalign Teen, you’ll be getting nothing less than the best when you choose Doleski & Wolford Orthodontics, since our orthodontists have done the most Invisalign cases of any practice here in Erie, PA. We are also an Invisalign Preferred Provider. With over 27 years of experience in providing professional orthodontic treatment to the families of Erie, Corry, and Lawrence Park, Drs. Doleski and Wolford are smile-crafting veterans that you can trust will provide you with the superior care you deserve.

So How Does Invisalign Teen Work?

Clear Orthodontic Aligners Video Invisalign Teen ditches the brackets and wires for plastic aligners that are completely clear, which are practically invisible when worn. The aligners are also completely removable, meaning that patients have no diet restrictions like they would with braces and maintaining good oral hygiene is simpler.

Invisalign Teen aligners use the same core concept as braces, moving teeth by applying a small amount of pressure, but they break up this movement into different stages. Invisalign Teen aligners come in multiple sets, with one aligner for both the top and bottom teeth that need to be worn for two weeks at a time. After every two weeks, you switch to the next set of aligners to keep moving the teeth until they reach their final, ideal positioning. The length of treatment depend on how many aligners are needed, which depends on the patient’s individual case, but the average treatment time for Invisalign teen is between 6 and 15 months.

How Is Invisalign Teen Different From Invisalign?

While it is very similar to Invisalign treatment for adults, Invisalign Teen makes some key adjustments to take into account the hectic teenage lifestyle and the typical tendencies that result. The first difference in the additional Blue Dot Wear Indicator, which is simply a small blue dot on the inside of each aligner near the back teeth. When the aligners are worn for 22 hours each day as needed, the dots will disappear, allowing parents and orthodontists to make sure that the aligners are being kept on when at school.

Can My Kids Get Invisalign Teen?

While Invisalign Teen is a very popular choice for teens with their orthodontic treatment, it is not right for everyone. The good news is that all the orthodontic treatment options that we offer are state-of-the-art and just as effective and efficient as Invisalign Teen would be.
